The Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra under direction of Pavel Kogan, as part of the Philharmonic subscription No. 64 “Music, Art, Life”, Sunday afternoon symphony concerts will present a magnificent unforgettable program from the most popular works of Gioacchino Rossini, an Italian composer, author of 39 operas, sacred and chamber music. His most famous operas are the Italian opera-buffa "The Barber of Seville" and "Cinderella", and the French language epics "Moses in Egypt" and "William Tell". Heinrich Heine called the composer Gioacchino Rossini "The Sun of Italy", and was right. Rossini completed the period of classicism in Italian music, and at the same time was the representative of the incipient national school, closely connected with folk traditions. Works by Domenico Gaetano Maria Donizetti – Italian opera composer, author of 68 operas. The pinnacle of the composer's work are operas «Love Drink»«Lucia di Lammermoor»«La Favorite» and «Don Pasquale». Vincenzo Salvatore Carmelo Francesco Bellini – Italian composer, author of 11 operas. As well as the works of Giuseppe Verdi – a brilliant Italian opera composer – the last great classic in the three-century history of Italian opera. There is no musical theater in the world in which Verdi's operas would not be staged. «Rigoletto»«La Traviata»«Aida» and others belong to the most popular operas and are loved by the widest audience. Many melodies from Verdi's operas have become world famous, and in the composer's homeland, in Italy, they are singing like folk songs. Such exceptional popularity of Verdi's work is explained by his deep nationality, organic and inextricable connection with the national democratic culture of his country, life truthfulness and realism, high humanism, and extraordinary melodic wealth. Verdi's popularity is also explained by the fact that it peculiarly reflected the advanced social movements of the Italian people. Vladimir Rylov, a well-known conductor and representative of the St. Petersburg school, will perform at the conductor desk.
